First Birthday Portraits + Cake Smash : Outdoor Floral Summer Session . Tualatin, OR
It can be a little tricky when kids have Summer birthdays. Know what's not tricky about turning one in the Summer? A gorgeous cake smash. So fun to shoot with this sweet baby girl, and work with her family to style this romantic, floral, outdoor cake smash session. Both the weather and sunlight were warm and made for such an idyllic little evening together. My goal is never to over-style a session to the point where you lose focus on the child, but a sweet vintage banner, and tasteful (pun intended) floral cake pulled it all together.
One year olds tend to go through a full range of emotions during their sessions, I loved that this girl clapped for herself after discovering the cake inside and cried at one point from all the attention, only to console herself with a finger swipe of frosting (honestly though, who hasn't done that at one time or another?) only to return to smiling. Can't wait to see what the next year has in store for this frosting sweet one year old!
